Sistering Drop-In and Administrative Offices

Our second Drop-In for Sistering involved feasibility studies of several sites in order to locate a suitable new home for the facility. The project, the adaptive reuse of an old theatre on Bloor Street into an accessible facility, funded by The Ministry of Health and City of Toronto, required extensive involvement of politicians and complicated negotiations with the landlord. Sustainable strategies include the recycling and reuse of equipment, millwork, doors and furnishings; envelope upgrading; new building systems; and use of low VOC materials.
